Time: 15 mins prep / 30 min cook time
Ingredients:
3 tsp Freshly Spiced Za’atar Spice Blend
1 Large Pack Puff Pastry
1 Egg ( for egg wash)
1.2 kg Potatoes, diced and par boiled for 10 minutes
300g Mature Cheddar Cheese Grated
1tsp English Mustard
1 tsp Salt
Cube of Butter
Milk
Instructions
Par boil the potatoes for 10 minutes and then mash, add in the butter cube and a dash of milk.
Add in 2 tsp Za’atar Spice, salt, mustard, and black pepper to season. Mix altogether to form a cheese potato mix.
In a large pie or casserole dish, evenly spread the mixture. Ā Sprinkle over the remaining cheese and za’atar spice.
Roll out the pastry and carefully place on top of the mash mixutre. Crimp with your fingers at the edges and then using the egg wash, carefully coat the pie. Sprinkle a little extra Za’atar if you fancy and then cook in the oven for 25-30 minutes on 200C Fan.
