Make this delicious South African Curry Recipe using our South African Curry Spice Blend. Deep, rich flavours, high heat with subtle sweetness for a delicious meal.

INGREDIENTS
500g Chicken breasts or Thighs cut into 2cm cubes
1 tbsp Oil
1 Large onion finely chopped
3-4 Garlic cloves, crushed
1cm Fresh ginger, grated
400g Chopped tomatoes (1 can)
2 Large Potatoes, peeled and cut into 2cm cubes
1 Lime
1 Large handful fresh coriander finely chopped
1/2 Red Chilli finely chopped
600ml Water
1 1/2 tsp Freshly Spiced South African Curry Spice Blend
2 tbsp Mango chutney
Salt
Rice to serve
INSTRUCTIONS
Place a large saucepan on a medium heat. Add oil and onions, soften for 8-10 minutes, add a little water to prevent sticking and sprinkle of salt part way through. Once softened, add the garlic, ginger and chilli, cook for another minute before added the South African Curry Spice Blend, stir through. Now add the chicken pieces and cook for around 5 minutes, turning regularly to ensure the meat is sealed with a little browning and fully coated in the onion and spice mixture.
Now add the chopped tomatoes,600ml water, potatoes and mango chutney, stir and leave to simmer for 25 minutes. Stir regularly and taste after 10 minutes, add a little more salt if needed.
The sauce should thicken before serving. Sprinkle on the fresh coriander and serve with turmeric rice. Add a tsp of turmeric to your rice during cooking.
