Ingredients:
For the Spiced Patties:
-
500g Lean chicken mince
-
2 tsp
(100% pure spices)Freshly Spiced Cajun Spice Blend -
1 Garlic clove, finely crushed or minced
For the Creamy Avocado Smash:
-
1 Large ripe avocado
-
Juice of 1/2 Fresh lime
-
A tiny pinch of sea salt
To Serve:
-
4 Wholemeal burger buns (lightly toasted)
-
Alternative: Large iceberg or gem lettuce leaves to wrap (perfect for a lighter, low-carb alternative!)
Instructions
In a large mixing bowl, combine the 500g lean chicken mince, the crushed garlic, and 2 teaspoons of our Cajun Spice Blend. Use your hands to thoroughly mix the ingredients so the spices are evenly distributed. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into even burger patties.
Griddle to Perfection
Lightly grease a griddle pan, frying pan, or your outdoor BBQ grill with a light oil spray and bring it up to a medium-high heat. Place the patties down and cook for 5–6 minutes on each side. Ensure they develop a gorgeous golden-brown spice crust and are thoroughly cooked through to the centre.
Whip Up the Smash
While your chicken burgers are sizzling away, slice open your ripe avocado and scoop the flesh into a small bowl. Add the fresh lime juice and a tiny pinch of salt. Mash with a fork until smooth but with a few nice, textured chunks left.
Construct your masterpiece! Slice open your toasted wholemeal burger buns (or prep your large lettuce wraps). Place a spiced chicken patty on the base, and slather the top generously with your fresh avocado smash.
Freshly Spiced Serving Suggestion
Add a slice of juicy beef tomato and some crunchy pickled red onions inside the bun. Serve alongside some homemade sweet potato wedges dusted with a little extra Cajun spice before roasting!
