Tagine Recipe

A rich, tasty beef tagine using our Ras El Hanout spice blend to create layers of flavour. Perfect family meal and really easy to create. You can easily create this in a slow cooker.

Serves 4
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 1 hour 45 minutes 

INGREDIENTS
500g Diced Beef
1 Onion, Finely Sliced
3 Cloves of Garlic, Crushed
400g Chickpeas (1 tin)
400g Chopped Tomatoes (1 tin)
200ml Vegetable Stock
3 tsp Ras El Hanout Blend
100g Pitted Prunes or Dates Roughly Chopped
Handful of Fresh Coriander

INSTRUCTIONS
Coat the diced beef in 1.5 tsp of Ras El Hanout Blend, leave to marinate for at least 1 hour but ideally 3 hours.
Place your tagine on a heat diffuser and once warm, add a large glug of olive oil
Brown the beef slightly, around 5 minutes
Place the sliced onion in the tagine with the garlic and cook for a further 5 minutes
Add 1.5tsp Ras El Hanout blend and stir through
Add the chickpeas, tomatoes and veg stock and stir through
You may want to add a little more Ras El Hanout at this point
Bring to a boil and then leave to simmer with the lid on for 1 hour
At the one hour point stir again, add in half the coriander and the prunes or dates
Put the lid back on and cook for 20-30 minutes, check the beef is tender

SERVING SUGGESTION
Serve and sprinkle the remaining fresh coriander
Goes well with fresh bread
